How We Write Our Articles
Where the facts and prices on our blog come from, how they are checked and how to report a mistake.
Why we publish articles
Our blog answers the questions people ask before a floor is screeded: what it costs, which screed suits the job, how deep it needs to be and how long it takes to dry. We publish it so you can plan with real figures, whether or not you use us.
Where our facts come from
- technical figures follow the British Standard for screeds (BS 8204), Building Regulations guidance and manufacturers' published data sheets;
- prices are published UK market figures, always named and dated, such as MyJobQuote and trade2base cost guides. They are not our quotations, and we say so;
- every article ends with a list of the sources it uses, linked so you can read them yourself.
How articles are checked
Before an article is published, each figure, standard and price in it is checked against the source it cites. Anything we cannot confirm from a reliable source is left out.
We describe what is typical in our trade. We do not invent customers, reviews or jobs, and we do not describe work in a named town that we cannot show.
Keeping articles up to date
Prices, standards and product data change. When we update an article we change its updated date, which is shown at the top of the page.
Corrections
If you think something in one of our articles is wrong or out of date, please email info@kandbscreeding.co.uk. We will check it against the sources and correct it if it is wrong.
